DAY 8:

Yesterday and todays posts are about moments - those experiences that have a specific time, place and feeling about them. They make us stop, pause and be one hundred percent in the moment.

Feel good moments are probably easier to observe because they do exactly what it says on the tin; they make us feel good. This can mean something different for all of us but I think these experiences are about feeling a connectedness rather than an ecstatic high.

My feel good moment came today (on the 9th day, I write this post retrospectively). Having woken up reasonably early, Tahira took our morning teas into our garden, enjoying the development that has taken place over the past year, carer of our own graft. While talking about the next steps of what we want to do with the space we noticed a large queen bee visiting the flowers. Not long after it landed on me, I was wearing a warm yellow, wooden jumper. We both stood there, surprised, a little shocked and completely in awe as it stayed there for a couple of minutes trying to work out if I had any pollen or nectar about me. Either that or it was looking for a cosy place to stay.

Shortly after, it flew off on its travels.

This moment was a connection, something that has stayed with me for the duration of the day and will stay for some time after. Simple, direct and uncomplicated, a meeting point to be treasured.
